Samsung Galaxy Note 20 - ok
- The Samsung Galaxy Note 20series is a few months away, but we've already started to see some solid leaks and rumors. What's up, guys? Saf here on SuperSaf TV, andlet's break all of these down, SuperSaf style, to give you anearly look at what to expect. Now, a lot of theseearly leaks do come from founder and CEO of DisplaySupply Chain Consultants, Ross Young, and these leakshave also been verified by serial leaker, Ice universe, which give them that much more weight. So, firstly, it lookslike we're going to have two Samsung Galaxy Note 20s, a Note 20, as well as a Note 20+, but no Note 20 Ultra, likewe had with the S20 series. Now, based on sale figures the S20 Ultra did not sell as well as Samsung had hoped, so this may be one of the reasons why we're not going to beseeing a Note 20 Ultra. But Ross Young has said that the Ultra will be the Galaxy Fold 2, which we'll talk aboutin a separate video. So the Note 20 and Note 20+,what are they going to look like? Well, from the front, they'regoing to look very similar to what we've seen from Samsung before. So boxed off designs with smaller bezels and a center punch out. Now, the center punch out is something that I personally don't mind. It actually allows me to get a little bit creative with wallpapers. But, unfortunately, we'renot going to be seeing any under-display cameratech, this year, anyway. Now, because of the smallerbezels we are going to be seeing slightly larger displays. So the Note 20+ is goingto go up from 6.8 inches to around 6.87 inches. And the Note 20 is going togo up from around 6.3 inches to 6.42 inches. Quad HD+ resolution for the Note 20+ and Full HD+ resolution for the Note 20, and, of course, a 120 hertzrefresh rate for both. The most interesting thing, however, is that both displays arelikely to have LTPO technology. So LTPO stands forlow-temperature polysilicon oxide and, not to go totechnical, but, essentially, this is much more power efficient and it's great for variable refresh rates. So, when you are not watchingany fast-moving content on your screen, maybe you'vegot static content on, then it's not going to need touse 120 hertz for a refresh rate and it can go all the way down. And, from what Russ Young is saying, you should be getting around 15 to 20% better power efficiencywith this technology. Now what this may also mean,it's just me speculating, is that the Note 20+ mayhave quad HD+ at 120 hertz. As we know, at this pointin time, the S20 series, if you do want 120 hertz, then this does go down to full HD+ resolution, not quad HD+, and this may have been areason around battery life. We're not sure exactlywhy Samsung had done this. But if we do have the LTPO technology then Samsung may no longerhave to limit the resolution when you are using 120hertz on the Note 20+. So this will be quite interesting. Now another very interesting thing about the displays of the Note 20s is that they are likelyto have the 3D Sonic Max in-display fingerprint scannertechnology from Qualcomm. Now, this is much improved to the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanners that we've got on the S10, the Note 10, as well as the S20 series. The area
is 17 times larger, so this would make it thelargest area on any smartphone. It's going to make thingsa lot more reliable, you're not going to haveto get the specific target. But things will also befaster as well as more secure, and that's because the3D Sonic Max does allow two fingers to be used simultaneously. So, for instance, ifthere are certain apps, such as banking apps, whereyou do need that extra security you could potentially assigntwo fingerprints to those apps and this will makethings a lot more secure. My good friend, Tom The TechChap, has then a detailed video about this technology, so I'll link that in the description and in the cards, if you want to checkthat out for more detail. So what's going to bepowering the Note 20 series? Well, it's likely thatwe are going to be having the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, as well as an Exynosvariant for other markets. Unfortunately, this is something that we've talked about a lot before, but it looks like Samsungwill have to stick to this, at least for the Note, maybe we'll see a change in the future. I don't know, I'm hopeful. Now, I am speculating, but itmight be that we are going to see an improved version of the Exynos 990 so that it matches up alittle bit more with the 865. Last year, on the S10 wedid have the Exynos 9820, but then when you didgo over onto the Note we did have the Exynos 9825, which was a little bit improved. So it's likely that we might see something similar this year. Now, another piece of information that we do have from RossYoung is that the Note series is going to come with abase of 16 gigabytes of RAM, which is going to be absolutely awesome. The Note series always knownfor its multitasking abilities, so this would make some sense. Whether or not these devices are going to have expandable storage is still a bit of a question mark. On the Note 10 we did nothave expandable storage, but on the Note 10+ we did have. So this may be a similar casehere for the Note 20 series. Now, of course, there'sgoing to be the S Pen, this is something that makesthe Note series unique. It's going to come withsome improved features. Last year we did have someof those Air commands, which honestly speaking, on my Note, I haven't really usedafter the first time. The only thing I've ever usedit for is a remote trigger. We might be seeing some newfeatures here, we'll see. Now for the batteries, Ross Young has said that we're likely to see between a 4,000 to 5,000 milliamppower battery on the Note 20s. The Note 20+, of course, will have a larger battery compared to that of the Note 20. What's interesting is that if we do have the LTPO display technology then this should make thingsa lot more power efficient, so we should be gettingbetter battery life on the Note 20 series. Now in terms of the design and the camera, these are things that we've notheard about too much as yet. Of
course, we can expect ametal and glass sandwich, like we've seen from Samsung before, with IP68 water and dust resistance. The camera module, right now Samsung is going for a rectangular camera module, so this is something thatI guess we can also expect. This is just me speculating, however. And in terms of the camera tech, it is likely that we would see the 108-megapixel camera sensor that we've seen on the S20 Ultra. Whether or not we'regoing to have the zoom is still a bit of a question mark, but hopefully something will be improving a lot of the issues thatwe've faced on the S20 Ultra, such as the autofocus. Now, of course, when youdo have more information about the cameras, as well as the design, with leaked renders and images, then I will be doingsome more updated videos. If you want to see those firstthen be sure to subscribe and hit that bell icon, soyou don't miss any of it. Now, for the announcement and the release of the Note 20 serieswe are likely to have the official announcement early August, this could, of course, changebecause of circumstances. And the release is likelyto be end of August or early September. What's interesting isthat the announcement of the Note 20 series isalso going to be alongside the announcement of the Galaxy Fold 2. If you do want me to do adetailed leaks and rumors video of the Galaxy Fold 2 then definitely let meknow in the comments below. And also let me know in the comments below what you think of the Note 20 series, based on all of these leaks and rumors. That's it from me, guys. I hope you enjoyed thisvideo and found it useful, if you did then do hit thatthumbs up button for me. Thanks for watching, thisis Saf on SuperSaf TV, and I'll see you next time.
